A list
3 things I want to share with you.
Ciao,
this time of the year can be overwhelming and full of lists and resolutions, I will keep it short and simple.
I'd like to share with you 1 book, 1 TV-show and 1 film I've seen this year in the hope that you'll find some kind of inspiration or curiosity.
And that is also what I wish you for next year: curiosity, lots of it.
1 Book:
Amy Erdman Farrell Fat Shame: Stigma and the Fat Body in American Culture - A history of the stigma of fatness in American and European culture. It is an essay, not meant to be entertaining, and it can be repetitive, but I think everyone should read it.
1 TV Show:
Somebody Somewhere- I loved it, cried, laughed so hard, I’m so sad it’s over. My favourite character (a part from Sam and Joel): Fred (Murray Hill).

I totally relate to what Kevin Fallon wrote on the Daily Beast: “My reaction to watching these scenes, a cry that resembled that of a bleating goat, may have had my neighbors wondering when they had moved next to a farm. There are scenes that are so disgustingly, crassly funny that I choked because I gasped so much—the series’ frankness about the reality of people having urgent, 9-1-1, absolutely violent bowel movements lives on.” A show that has been described as a miracle.
1 Movie:
All of Us Strangers. I loved it because of London, and that sense of solitude that I only felt there in my late twenties, but, if you’ll watch it, be prepared, it’s sad.
Thanks for reading, have some rest.
ciao
Marina.
“We men dream dreams, we work magic, we do good, we do evil. The dragons do not dream. They are dreams. They do not work magic: it is their substance, their being. They do not do; they are.”
― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Farthest Shore
